The number of websites on the Internet has grown explosively since the World Wide Web was introduced in 1991. In January of 1994 there were a total of about 700 websites on the Internet. At that time websites were considered a novelty. A relatively few forward-thinking companies had a web presence, and those were only discovering how to utilize this new media. As of November 2006, there were over 100,000,000 websites online, and the trend continues. Some estimate that there will be over 200,000,000 websites by the end of 2010. Not only have the number of sites grown, but the importance of the websites has grown also. 3,00,000 people join Internet every day. Internet usage doubles every two months. Over 76 crore people will join internet in next 5 years. 4 websites are launched every second. But still 95% people don’t know even how to build a simple website. The knowledge of web development has therefore become very important.
In view of this, theTECHNOCRATZ club started under its umbrella a Web-Development Club which organizes regular meets for the student of the college where various aspects of the field are discussed.
